About
Personalized physical therapy in Hinsdale
since 2007.
Dr. Omar Hussien founded Progressive Physical Therapy with a simple rule: every patient gets evidence-based care, every visit, measured against goals — not insurance authorizations.
Our story
Founded on the rule
we still run on.
In 2007, Dr. Omar Hussien opened Progressive PT in Hinsdale with a model that was already going out of fashion in big-box rehabilitation: one therapist, one patient, one hour. No rotation. No technicians running you between machines.
Nineteen years later that's still the rule. We added a CLT-LANA lymphedema specialist — Lamiaa Hefni — to make the model viable for oncology rehabilitation, the part of physical therapy most often delivered poorly because the credential is rare. The rest of the practice grew around the same standard.
We treat what we specialize in. We measure outcomes. We discharge when patients meet criteria, not when sessions run out.
"The thing patients come back for isn't a technique. It's the quiet certainty that the same person will be in the room next week, asking what's changed, and adjusting the plan around the answer."
Our approach
The three things we won't compromise
of physical therapy.
01—One therapist, every visit
Sixty minutes. No tech handoffs.
You see Dr. Omar or Lamiaa every visit — not a rotating cast of aides running you between machines. Continuity is the most predictive factor in clinical outcomes that almost no clinic protects.

02—Evidence-based, not protocol-driven
We follow the literature, not a script.
The plan is yours — measured against your goals, not insurance authorizations. McKenzie for spine. Vestibular rehab for dizziness. Complete Decongestive Therapy for lymphedema. The interventions with the strongest evidence get used; the ones without don't.
rotating handoffs to aides
03—Outcomes are measured
Discharge happens when criteria are met.
Function, range, strength, pain — re-tested at intervals against a baseline. We don't keep you in care because sessions remain on an authorization. We discharge when objective measures say you're done.
